About

Amir Allana is a Paramedic and was a graduate student at the Upstream Lab. He completed an MSc in Health Services Research at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation, University of Toronto. He studied integrated care, and how different parts of the health system can better collaborate and adapt to address local needs. He also examined the evolving role of paramedics in extending primary care and social services out to patients in the community. This includes home visits to the elderly and chronically ill, public health campaigns, mental health emergencies, and referrals to services that address social determinants of health.
