About
Emilie Toews is a PhD student and trainee with the PREPARED project, co-supervised by Dr. Kerry McBrien and Dr. Andrew Pinto, focusing on respiratory virus surveillance, infectious disease epidemiology, and public health preparedness.
Prior to beginning her PhD, she completed an MSc from University of Calgary and MPH from Imperial College London and has contributed to infectious disease surveillance and evidence synthesis initiatives, including respiratory virus monitoring and global seroprevalence research for the past three years.
With PREPARED, Emilie hopes to leverage her diverse research background to generate timely, policy-relevant evidence supporting the community-based surveillance of respiratory pathogens in Alberta.
