About
Dr. Keshini Abeyewardene is a Master’s candidate affiliated with the Upstream Lab. Her research interests include comparative health systems, health policy, health equity, cancer care in primary health settings and global health research related to primary care.
She is a Resident Family physician at the University of Toronto based at the St. Michael’s Hospital family health team. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Health systems, Leadership and Innovation (MScHSLI) at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. She also completed the Global Health Education Initiative (GHEI) program at the University of Toronto and her Medical degree from Sichuan University (China). Her clinical experience ranges from work in rural, semi-urban to tertiary care settings in China, Sri Lanka and Canada.
