About
Dr. Laura Rodger is a physician specializing in addiction medicine and general internal medicine. She completed her medical school and internal medicine residency at the University of Western Ontario, followed by a General Internal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto. Based primarily at the University Health Network’s Toronto Western Hospital, Dr. Rodger’s clinical practice and academic pursuits reflect her interests in developing new care models for patients with substance use and marginalized populations. She is an MSc student in the Health Systems Research – Outcomes and Evaluation stream, through the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Pinto.
Her interests lie in the development of hospital-based addiction programs, health equity, and the interplay between social determinants of health (SDOH) and hospital-based medical care. Her interests led her to the Upstream Lab, a renowned center for innovation in SDOH. Outside the hospital, Dr. Rodger can be found travelling to new places, taking walks with her bulldog, Bowie, and exploring the food and drink scene in Toronto.
