Liane was a Research Coordinator in The Upstream Lab. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters of Health Studies from Athabasca University. She has been part of the Upstream Lab since January 2021 and part of the Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael’s Hospital since 2017. She is interested in how the social determinants of health (particularly income and employment) impact health outcomes. She works on several projects for the Upstream Lab including a qualitative research project looking at social enterprises who employ people with mental illness and a systematic review looking at interventions to address social isolation in a family practice setting. She is also a member of the Research Equity Diversity and Inclusion task force at St. Michael’s Hospital. In her spare time she likes outdoor activities including swimming, biking, camping and hiking with her dog Teddy.
