Mahek Shergill is an incoming medical student at McMaster University and is currently a T-CAIREM summer student at the Upstream Lab. Previously, she obtained her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University. Mahek is interested in examining how artificial intelligence can be used to advance health equity and improve health outcomes. At the Upstream Lab, Mahek is working on a project investigating how to mitigate bias in machine learning applications in Public and Population Health.
