About

Globally, countries are struggling with healthcare workforce shortages, particularly in primary care. Strong primary care promotes health equity by addressing gaps in care faced by individuals who lack access due to factors like poverty, gender, race, and living in rural areas and preventing non-communicable diseases. Through a series of deliberative dialogue sessions, the project will bring together experts, including multidisciplinary primary care providers, researchers, academics, and policymakers, to collaborate and identify research priorities for strengthening the healthcare workforce. Additionally, this project supports the development of international collaborations and consensus-building to enhance research capacity in primary care.

Impact

The overall aim of this project is to develop a research roadmap report and specific research questions and catalyze future research projects focused on identifying models of care which promote health equity through the healthcare workforce and multidisciplinary teams which can be applied to multiple health settings.
