Profiles of Public Health Systems in Canadian Provinces and Territories

Complete
Health Workforce, Public Health, System Governance

About

This project came about as the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the urgency to renew and reinforce public infrastructure in Canada and the world. The first phase will include detailed descriptions of public health financing, governance, organization, and workforce in each of the 13 Canadian provinces and territories in a literature review that was validated by decision makers. This will eventually be a series of 13 reports highlighting  the public health system in each Canadian province & territory. This series is a product of a partnership between the NCCHPP, the North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, the Upstream Lab, the Population Health Analytics Lab, the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

As of now, there are 3 reports, the Jurisdictional Review Methodology, the Ontario Profile and the Nova Scotia Profile, that have been published.

Reports will be released as they are completed.
