Melanie Figueiredo is a Medical Student at the University of Toronto. At the Upstream Lab, Melanie is working on the development of training materials for primary care clinic staff administering the SPARK Tool. Specifically, she is supporting the creation of a SPARK manual, workshops, online training materials, Patient-Oriented Evidence that Matters, and other innovative training resources that can be used to educate primary care providers and patients about the SPARK Tool. Over the past several years, Melanie has also been working as a Research Assistant for the McMaster Fecal Microbiota Transplant Program and has contributed to clinical projects involving inflammatory bowel disease in the paediatric population. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys travelling abroad, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
