Dr. Dorsa Mohammadrezaei is an epidemiologist at Upstream Lab, contributing to the Data Science cluster. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Tehran, with a focus on machine learning, biotechnology, and mathematical medicine. She also completed postdoctoral research at the University Health Network, specializing in healthcare data analysis and biostatistics.
At Upstream Lab, Dorsa supports the PREPARED initiative, which aims to enhance surveillance, improve patient care, optimize health system efficiency, and accelerate the development of diagnostics, vaccines, and therapeutics—ultimately protecting Canada from future pandemics. Additionally, Dorsa contributes to projects like CanTreatCovid, where she analyzes data to provide insights into COVID-19 treatment strategies. She is also involved in AreaResp, which aims to establish a national, population-based, real-time surveillance system to monitor respiratory illnesses and inform public health decisions using advanced machine learning approaches.
