Geil Astorga



Geil joined the Upstream Lab in September 2022 as a Communications Specialist. Her primary focus is developing strategies to engage with stakeholders and support the lab’s projects, more particularly the CanTreatCOVID study. Geil earned her Communications degree with Provost Honour and Distinction at McMaster University. Currently, she is a graduate student in the Translational Research Program at Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Prior to joining the lab, she worked on knowledge translation projects for individuals with disabilities. Her interests are around the affordances of media and strategic communications in translating knowledge, co-designing interventions, and addressing health inequities.
