About
Joseph joined the Upstream Lab in July 2022 and is the Research Coordinator for the SPARK Implementation Study, the Quadruple Aim scoping review, and supporting Project Dignify. Joseph holds an MSc degree from the University of British Columbia with a focus on sport and health psychology. Through his master’s thesis project, Joseph explored the various ways in which people who had experienced homelessness felt that playing in the Vancouver Street Soccer League influenced their mental health. Prior to joining the Upstream Lab, Joseph worked as a Mental Health Housing Clinician with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCH) and has previously held various Research Coordinator roles including helping develop the VCH region’s first recovery college. His research interests span mental health and well-being in community and clinical settings, community sport, physical activity, and community-based qualitative methods.
