Karen is an incoming second-year medical student at the University of Toronto. She previously completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences at McMaster University. At the Upstream Lab, her projects will focus on the use of AI in primary care settings. Her academic interests include primary care, social medicine, and narrative medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and playing music. Through her work at the Upstream Lab, she hopes to learn more about social determinants of health and ways to contribute to SDOH-related advocacy and research as a future healthcare professional.
