Melanie is an MSc candidate in Health Policy at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (IHPME) at the University of Toronto. Her Masters thesis will delve into policy strategies for financing Canada’s Public Health systems sustainably. She is also currently leading the Police Funding study at the Upstream Lab, which includes an analysis of municipal police funding across Canada over time, as well as a scoping review collecting health perspectives on the movement to defund police. Outside of her work, Melanie helps organize the UofT Student Mental Health Advocacy & Resource Team (SMART).
