About

Moon-Ja worked as a chemistry teacher in South Korea and as a soil chemistry researcher at the University of Manitoba. She is currently an active member of the Bathurst Finch Community Action Network (BFCAN) and the B-F Food Coalition (BFFC) and is the founder and leader of the Bathurst Finch Seniors Society. During the pandemic, she served as part of the Vaccine Engagement Team for Toronto Public Health. She is also a councillor for the Patient and Caregivers Health Council and serves as a Community Health Ambassador for the North York Toronto Health Partners (NYTHP).

Additionally, Moon-Ja is a patient partner with the Upstream Lab. She was an Advisory Council member for the Neighborhood Grant and Social Planning with the City of Toronto. She is very active in her faith community, serving as a commissioner for the Social & Ecological Justice Commission and the Intercultural and Diversity Ministry Commission for the Southwest Regional Council. Her passion is connecting people, sharing stories, and expanding community networks to build strong, beautiful neighbourhoods and beyond.
